Why Not! Work Hard to Get Out of Debt - submitted by Robert Cole In 1987, we needed to expand our business. Since the companies we represent would no longer consign the equipment to us, we needed to purchase more inventory. We had to borrow $25,000. No problem. We went to the bank and used credit cards to get cash (low interest ones), to purchase the equipment. We had anticipated changing the credit card with others who offer low interest rate every six months, eventually paying off the loan in about three years. We were nervous with this new debt, so we worked harder than ever before. Our sales went up 50%. This last year, we grew another 20% in sales. Because we worked harder, we ended up paying that debt off in six months, a huge improvement over the three years we expected. Our new motto is: "Nothing makes an honest man work harder than a lot of debt". Because of our hard work, we were able to expand our business and get out of debt. Now, with that same "why not" attitude, we are looking at further expansion. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
