Why Not! Take the Next Step - submitted by Brian in Ohio My biggest "why not" came about when I was trying to decide about dating someone I had met online. Should I take a chance to date someone I only communicated with electronically? We seemed to be compatible based on words on a computer screen, but what would she be like in person? What would she think of me? What would I think of her once we had met? That was about 3 years ago. I'm still going out with her now and we're very happy together. In fact, we are on the path to marriage! I think that meeting someone online, then taking the step of meeting them in the real world is about the biggest "why not" that someone can have. If I hadn't said to myself, "why the heck not", then I wouldn't have gone out with her and I would have missed out on meeting the love of my life.
Editors Note: It's great to meet people who you've chatted with on-line (I've even done it myself and have met some very nice people). It takes some courage, but that's often when you find life's biggest rewards. However, women should always take some sensible precautions:
